Visitors can take a stroll along the Heritage Trail starting at the Casino Museum in Walker Street and follow the route to view historic buildings from the 1840s.

Richmond River

The Richmond River is popular for picnics and sightseeing, and the Platypus Pool, below Irving Bridge, sometimes offers a glimpse of these rare creatures. There are also shady parks with picnic facilities and numerous sporting venues.

Jabiru Geneebeinga Wetlands

Adjacent to the Casino golf club is the Jabiru Geneebeinga Wetlands, a sanctuary for native birds and wildlife, which has a mini railway managed by the Pacific Coast Railway Society Inc. who offer half hour miniature train trips every Sunday.

National Parks

Casino is the gateway to many of the region's wilderness areas and national parks of the northern tablelands including Border Ranges National Park and Mt Warning National Park. Approximately 20 kms out of Casino at Dryaaba, you will find local Aboriginal Rock Carvings.

Beef Capital

Casino is known as the Beef Capital of NSW and has several special agricultural events including the Beef Week Festival in May, the huge Primex Agricultural Expo each June, the largest commercial exhibition in northern New South Wales. The Agricultural Show in October is another popular event with residents and visitors alike.

Post Office

Located in Barker Street this two-storey brick building was completed in 1879. The original building provided an office, four rooms, a kitchen and a stable and was altered and extended in 1893 and 1915. It is still an impressive country post office.
